Re-elect Jennie Olson

President, AFSCME Local 328

For over a decade, I’ve worked alongside you at OHSU, and for the past term, I’ve fought for you as your union president. We raised membership levels, blocked healthcare cost increases, won a seat on the OHSU Board of Directors, and built the most engaged bargaining team our Local has ever seen. This runoff is about continuing to strengthen our local together!

STANDING UP FOR OUR MEMBERS

Defending the Oregon National Primate Research Center

The Oregon National Primate Research Center is under serious threat. Hundreds of our represented workers are directly at risk. I have been at the forefront of defending ONPRC, using every avenue available to protect our members’ jobs and OHSU’s tripartite mission of research, education, and patient care.

Met with Governor Tina Kotek

Brought our members’ concerns directly to Oregon’s Governor to advocate for the preservation of ONPRC and the jobs it supports

Testified before the OHSU Board of Directors

Appeared before OHSU’s Board of Directors multiple times to make the case for our workforce and OHSU’s research mission at the Oregon National Primate Research Center, where I worked for three years

A Seat at the Table

I currently serve - and secured seats for a total of three Local 328 representatives - on the Future of ONPRC Committee, working from the inside to shape decisions that directly affect hundreds of Local 328 members

Looking Ahead

Winning this runoff means protecting everything we’ve built, and doing a better job in the years ahead. Here’s what I am committed to:

  • We will hold more listening sessions, department visits, and improved surveys so that every member’s priorities are heard. Membership meetings will be revamped to always include contract education which will help our members understand what is in our contract and most importantly how to make it work for them every day!

  • We will continue working on a full debrief of what worked, what didn’t, and which actions resonated with our members. We will build our next campaign around what our membership actually needs and wants.

  • I understand our members are frustrated by how long bargaining lasted. We’ll begin strategizing our 2028 campaign well before our current CBA expires, bargain strategically, and do everything in our power to minimize the time between contract expiration and ratified contract.
