I am writing to express my wholehearted endorsement and support for Jennie Olson as the president of Local 328.

The platform presented by Jennie, Jen Laverdure (vice president), Cassie Barton (secretary), Claire Irvan (treasurer), and Haley Wolford Davis (chief steward) places emphasis on outreach and member-driven decision making, improved organization and planning, and building a diverse, unified, and engaged base.

We have seen our employer increasingly unwilling to give our members a fair deal without putting up a fight, and our employer has shown it doesn’t always fight fair. As Jennie and her running mates have stated, we need to prepare and plan our next contract negotiation ASAP and make sure our members are more informed and engaged than ever. We have seen the power of member participation in our last negotiation. It’s vital that we continue to build and strengthen our membership and make gains for all of our members, especially those who are struggling.

I have witnessed first-hand Jennie’s commitment to our members through her role as a union steward and her participation in the most recent contract negotiation. She has proven willing and able to put in the extra time and effort required to fight for our members, and has the skills and experience needed to build a stronger union than ever.

As someone who has worked alongside Jennie, I have confidence that our members will be in good hands with her as president. She demonstrates professionalism, commitment, and attention to detail in her role as a grants & contracts administrator, and as a representative for our union. She and her team have a clear vision of building and strengthening our union by engaging members at all levels, and keeping members engaged and informed.

With great enthusiasm and support, I encourage all members to vote for Jennie Olson and her running mates, to build a union that truly represents and advocates for its members.
